I have always been a “helper.” Not surprisingly, I am a Type Two personality type (aka The Helper). Supporting others is in my nature. I am an HSP, a Highly Sensitive Person, and an empath. I believe these things are my superpower in the field of birth. I am intuitive and sensitive to other’s needs and feelings at all times.

A Gentle Space was created with the vision of helping birthing people step into their true power. Being a new doula and not having children of my own, really helps me to be unbiased. I have no pre-conceived ideas of how birth should go. I put all my trust in YOU. I want to give you the tools that you need to make informed decisions and I will have your back no matter what. Being a doula feels like being a best friend. Someone who supports and loves you unconditionally and will always be by your side. 

I cannot wait to build this connection with you and am honored to get to hold space and witness this transformative time in your life. I truly believe this is where I was meant to be and I can’t wait to create a safe, loving, and gentle space for you and your family. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for considering me.

Growing up, I was taught to fear birth. I came from a long line of women who did not want to feel any pain. Stories about disassociating from the experience and having doctors promise to put them under immediately upon arrival shaped my view on childbirth. This deeply rooted fear, to my utter disbelief, began to shatter as I dove into birth education. The quote, “Knowledge is Power” really began to ring true. If I could break down generational fear through knowledge, I knew everybody could. I became so driven and passionate to share this experience with others. 

I believe with my whole heart that birth is incredibly personal. The birthing person is the only one who knows what is best for them and their baby especially when they learn to trust themselves and their instincts. Our ancestors have been doing this for centuries! Our bodies were quite literally made to do this. What an incredible honor, to empower birthing people and help them in having the birth experience they deserve. For them to be sure of what they want, and their options and be fully supported in the decisions they make.
